5 Books you won't regret reading.

Read to know, read to learn, read to grow….bla bla… We all have come across these phrases. Isn’t it? But, what if you hate reading? What if even seeing the books give you nightmares? What if you barely read books just to pass in your exam and never look back at them once their work is done? I know many of us belong to this category (Well, I count myself out, no offence). Still, there is always somewhere we can start. Something we can pick up and will not regret our decision. With reading some phenomenal pieces to some disastrous ones, I have come up with 5 books that come in the former category which are simply the ones anyone can start with.

1. The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the The Horse by Charlie Mackesy

Yes, you read it right. This is the name of the book. The unusual title fits in aptly with the unusual yet catchy way of writing. It is something which everyone will like (age :no bar, gender: no way bar..LOL). The characters in the book correspond to the title and are described in the same way (no special name / Proper nouns given). This book has such a personal touch that you would fall in love with it. You can go about and keep it as a treasure for life as it teaches you simple life lessons in no hi-fi ways but through simple words. Yes, words (not even sentences). The illustrations of the book are heart touching. I can find no con in this book. However, the biggest advantage for all you book scared people out there is that it hardly has a big story. It has pictures and few words, just the way you liked it as kids. So, please grab a copy for yourself and thank me later.

2. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

I know you must have heard of it. So, it intends no harm in hearing it once more. Paulo Coelho is a gem of a writer and this work of his is truly inspirational. Being his very first book, this is class apart and has an element for every dream catcher. We people are always hungry for motivation and something that can give us a little push in life. This book does just that. There are days when we look around and find only darkness. On such days this book can bring a ray of hope in your life. Story of a shepherd and how he does not give up on his dreams is awe-inspiring and what more can I say about the author as well. I love all his works but this one holds a special place. So, I recommend it strongly to my readers.

3. Mrs. Funnybones by Twinkle Khanna

Inspiring, witty, ironical, satirical, humorous, serious and lovable all at the same time. The author - well, she is one inspiration for me too. The way she pens down the mundane things of life with a dash of wit in her work is truly hilarious. This book truly lives by its title. The collection of anecdotes from the writer’s life will give you tickles and jitters at the same time. So, if you are looking for something you can relate too and just have an easy-breezy reading experience, then…this book is a catch!

4. The Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi

Did I cheat here? Yes, I did because it's a trilogy (three books) and not just one. So what? I am allowed to take advantage here. LOL. Coming to the topic, this series of books tells the story of Lord Shiva with a different point of view, a mythical one. Well, that’s what these are, Myths! It’s the way we perceive things. However, the way the author has written this, is thought provoking and the narration is phenomenal. Ladies and Gentlemen you are going to be in love with the characters (Warning : you may also start seeing them your dreams). This book is a steal if you are a mythology and fiction lover, both at the same time. And, I am sure you will read all the three in the series.

5. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

I take a little advantage here. After reading the above books, you might have till now got into a habit of reading books. So, why not take a little step ahead and read the classics. This one is one of my favourite classics. The readers are going to love and hate the character both at the same time. The story is of old times yet far ahead of its time and the ending? OMG! Grab your tissues and sit back. Can say no more. Just that grab it whenever you can. A highly recommended one from my side.

These were the ones I personally felt are the books for everyone. Would love to hear from you guys if you wish to add something. There is a lot in store in the world of books, so for further adventures, Stay Tuned !
